Eggless Custard Powder cake

Day 6 of Blogging Marathon#4 by Srivalli and i was suddenly short of some snack recipes which my daughter loves.....for a change she wanted some sweet and i thought i will bake a tea cake. I baked this wonderful cake from Aparna's blog for my daughter and my brother. It is his Birthday today and he does not eat eggs!!!.He loves the fruit salad with custard and i thought he might like this as well!!!! So this was the perfect birthday cake for him.....

INGREDIENTS

All purpose flour 1 1/2 cup

Custard powder(corn starch) Vanilla Flavored 3/4 cup

Butter 150 gms

Sugar (granulated) 3/4 cup

Milk 1 cup

Baking powder 2 1/4 tsp

Vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp if using corn starch

PREPARATION

In a big bowl mix the all purpose flour, custard powder, sugar and baking powder together.Add the Milk and the butter and beat well.

Pour the batter in a greased, floured 8" cake tin and bake for 45 minutes or till the skewer comes out clean when pricked at the center

Cool on a rack and serve

VERDICT

Best snack cake with a wonderful refreshing yellow colour and a great taste and a wonderful texture too

Thank you APARNA.My family loved this as it was quite a light cake without any icing:-)

KISHORE THIS IS FOR YOU.........HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Nice cake. I have never even attempted to bake in microwave. For some reason I don't like it since it dries out the food. Yours looks nice crumb texture.
