Multigrain Pizza/Whole wheat Pizza/Regular Pizza

THIS PIZZA BASE IS BAKED WITH MULTIGRAIN FLOUR AND HERBS

Hi
Today is Day 4 of Blogging Marathon#4 started by Srivalli and it coincides with SWEET PUNCH challenge of this month which is the brain child of Ria, Divya and Maria. I guess i am very lucky since this month's sweet punch challenge was to bake a pizza which happens to be my daughter's favourite.....another Kids delight!!!!!!!!!!!. I had to bake a recipe from Pioneer Woman, but since i wanted to do a healthier option as well i tweaked it to suit my requirement.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE DOUGH

Whole wheat flour/Multi grain flour/All purpose flour 2 cups

Active dry yeast OR fresh yeast 1 tsp OR 2 tsp

Sugar 1/2 tsp

Salt 1/2 tsp

Oregano 1 tsp

Chilli flakes 1 tsp

Water nearly 1 cup

Olive oil 1 tbsp

FOR THE TOPPING

Onion 2

Capsicum( green, yellow) 1 each

Corn 1/2 cup

Cherry Tomato few

Basil few leaves

Olive oil 3 tbsp

Mozzarella as per taste

PREPARATION

FOR THE TOPPING
In a pan add a tsp of olive oil.
Saute the onions, capsicum in a high flame for a few minutes. Add the cherry tomatoes. Sprinkle little salt on it. Mix well and switch of the heat. Alternatively you can broil the veggies too

FOR THE BASE

Take 1/4 cup of luke warm water and add sugar to it. Mix well. Sprinkle the yeast on this and let it prove.

Mix the Multigrain/whole wheat or the all purpose flour in a wide mouthed bowl.Add salt to this

If you are using any herbs add it to the flour.

Pour in the yeast-water mixture to this. Mix well

Add more water and knead it to a pliable dough- nearly for 10 minutes.Let it rest for 45 minutes for it to double.

YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE OF THE TWO TYPES OF DOUGH AFTER 45 MINUTES. THE DOUGH WITH THE ALL PURPOSE FLOUR SEEMS TO RISE FASTER.

ASSEMBLING

Make 3 balls from each.

Roll it into a circle(square).Thickness depends on individual taste. We prefer thin crust

Prick it with fork all over

Spread pizza sauce on it.

Arrange the veggies over it evenly.

Sprinkle the cheese

Drizzle olive oil all around this and bake it for 10 to 15 minutes at 220 C or till the cheese melts and the crusts browns very little.

Here you have a healthy option of whole wheat pizza (ofcourse with less cheese)

and a regular pizza for the kids with the fresh oven baked flavour.

  4. I used wheat flour and my dough did not raise at all even after 24 hours! I still went ahead and baked the pizza and I could not get the pizza off the pan! :( I scraped the pizza off the pan and add the topping and with little bit of the base I could scrape off the pan.. lol! Anyway, I made the dough again last night and am waiting for the raise. Will make my pizza tomorrow.
