Chimili is a sweet made with white sesame seeds. Generally this is made on a friday of Navarathri as an offering to goddess Lakshmi. So this goes in as my entry for day 4 of BM#5 by Srivalli.
INGREDIENTS
White Sesame seeds 1 cup
Jaggery (powdered) 1 cup
PREPARATION

Clean the sesame.
Dry roast the sesame in a pan . Cool and powder it in a mixer.
Add the powdered jaggery to this and run the mixer again so that it forms a homogenous mixture.
Roll into balls.
A very easy preparation yet again

ReplyDeleteDear Veena
ReplyDeleteHow are you? I feel good that you have posted the recipe of a very traditional dish.It is my all time favorite. Actually I am sick of eating the bought out ones. One doesnt get good Jaggery, it is full of bleaching agent and flour too.
Anyway let me see if i can get some pure jagerry from a sugar cane farmer friend and make this secretly to give a surprise to my wife. Ha ha
Have a nice weekend
Looks like an easy recipe! Yum
